In Denver, October is known as Great American Beer Festival month. However, there is so much more happening this month. From fundraisers to a series of pop-up dinner parties in an indoor urban farm prepare to have a packed October. We have gathered together seven events that we think should not be missed.

1. Mercantile International: The Brewer’s Table
When: Wednesday, October 5
Where: Mercantile Dining and Provisions {1701 Wynkoop Street, Denver; 720.460.3733}
What: Some of the most sought after breweries attending the Great American Beer Festival will be joined by internationally acclaimed chefs at Mercantile Dining and Provisions for the “Meeting of the Palates” dinner. Six breweries and eight chefs will come together for an amazing evening to discuss the current state of beer and food. Tickets are $150; you must call to reserve your spot.

2. A Sky Full of Stars Gala
When: Saturday, October 8, 6-10 pm
Where: History Colorado Center {1200 Broadway, Denver}
What: Some of Denver’s best restaurants are coming together to support Colorado Youth At Risk, an organization that empowers teenage students to positively impact their own futures through community-based mentoring and intensive training. Chefs include: Goose Sorensen–Solera, Justin Brunson–Old Major, Jamey Fader–Big Red F, Tyler Wiard–Elway’s, Troy Guard–TAG Restaurant Group, Aniedra Nichols–Fish n’ Beer, Mike Winston–Table 6, John Hinman–Hinman’s Bakery, Elliot Jones–Ya Ya’s Euro Bistro, and Andrea Frizze–Il Posto/Vero. In addition to their fabulous bites, the evening will include live music, a silent auction, and swag bags provided by Marczyk Fine Foods.

3. Harvest Week
When: October 16-20, 6pm-9pm nightly
Where: The GrowHaus {4751 York Street, Denver}
What: Each year, EatDenver partners with The GrowHaus to create a series of pop-up dinner parties. This five-day event showcases all things Colorado, featuring chefs from over 40 local, independent, restaurants creating multi-course communal dining feasts paired with local wines and spirits. Each night has a different theme, so guests have been known to come to several over the course of the week. This year’s themes are by cuisine with an evening for France, Spain, Italy, Southeast Asia, and the American South. Tickets are $75 and are all inclusive. 4. A Taste For Life
When: Thursday, October 20, 6pm
Where: The Grand Hyatt {1750 Welton Street, Denver}
What: This year Project Angel Heart celebrates its 25th anniversary and the celebration continues with A Taste For Life—their largest annual fundraising gala. Sip, savor, and celebrate with bites from some of Denver’s top chefs while you enjoy wines, spirits, music, and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit Project Angel Heart’s efforts to provide healthy, life-sustaining meals to people living with cancer, kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, and other life-threatening illnesses. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased at Project Angel Heart.

5. Joy Wines and Spirits Chili Cookoff
When: Sunday, October 23, 12-4pm
Where: Joy Wines and Spirits {1302 East 6th Avenue, Denver}
What: The annual Joy Wines and Spirits Chili Cookoff will return on October 23. Over 20 restaurants will compete for the Chili Crown and amateur chefs will compete for bragging rights and prizes. Local distilleries, wineries, and breweries will be in attendance pouring Colorado favorites! All funds raised will go to benefit Project Worthmore to assist refugee families with services and programs that foster community and self-sufficiency. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased here. Drink tickets will be sold separately inside the event.

6. Plates for the Peak
When: Monday, October 24, 7pm-10pm
Where: Vesta Dipping Grill {1822 Blake Street, Denver; 303.296.1970}
What: Now in its thirteenth year, Plates for the Peak, is Vesta Dipping Grill’s largest fundraiser of the year. Guests gather for a party complete with specialty drinks and bites from the chefs of Vesta, Steuben’s, and Ace Eat Serve. This year’s theme is Soul Food so expect food, drinks, and music to reflect the theme. There will also be a silent auction and all funds raised from ticket sales, donations, and the auction will be donated to Urban Peak which helps youth at risk and homeless youth. Tickets are $85 and can be purchased at here.

7. Tapped: Beer Tour Series with Odell
When: Thursday, October 27, 7-9 pm
Where: The Rosedale {1135 East Evans Avenue, Denver; 720.961.0320}
What: To launch their new Tapped: Beer Tour Series, The Rosedale has tapped Odell Brewing Company as their inaugural brewery. Each month, they will host a different brewery offering flights of beers paired with small plates. On October 4 from 6 – 8pm they will host Odell Pint Night where guests will receive an Odell’s pint glass with their first pint of beer purchased and a chance to win two tickets to Tapped. During Tapped, guests will enjoy a sampling of Odell Brewing’s beers including Brombeere, Drumroll Pale Ale, Comet IPA, Isolation Ale, and Jolly Russian. The $25 ticket price includes the sampling of beer and small plates, plus one Odell pint, and a commemorative glass. Odell drafts are $2 off that evening and $1 off throughout the month!
